The E30/36/Z3 front lower control arm bushings come in centered and offset versions.

On Z3/E30 we recommend the offset bushing for a better caster for a more precise steering feel

On E30M3 we recommend the offset only this is the OEM style for this model

On non M e36 cars you can use either. Using the offset will give the non M e36 better caster for a more precise steering feel.

On the E36 M3 it will depend what year and what arms you use.

On the 95M3 we recommend only the offset bushings.

On the 96-99 M3 we recommend the centered bushing only in conjunction with the proper OEM 96-99 control arms . The geometry changes in the 96-99 M3 in the control arm and spindle work best with the centered bushings. We do not recommend using the non M E36 arm with the offset bushing. It works but is not ideal or the correct part for the 96-99 M3.
